This Harley Quinn Halloween Makeup Mixes Grit With Glamour

Yes, we’re jumping aboard the Harley Quinn costume bandwagon. The Suicide Squad character’s haphazard eye shadow, bold red lips, and face tattoos make dressing up for Halloween so much more exciting. Add a wig similar to her pink and blue dip-dyed ponytails, and your makeover is complete.

We couldn’t think of a better person to morph into the fictional supervillain than Yahoo Style fashion associate Derek Nguyen. Keep scrolling down to see how Make Up For Ever pro artist Ruben Garcia brought our spooktacular vision to life.

Step 1: Apply a base

Even out your skin tone with the Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation.

Step 2: Add face paint

Mix Flash Color in white with a bit of foundation and apply to the entire face and neck with a medium rounded brush. Set with Pro Finish Multi Use Powder.

Pro tip: Use swift, dabbing motions to press the face paint into your skin for a ghostly finish.

Step 3: Make brows pop

Fill in sparse areas within eyebrows (Garcia used Pro Sculpting Brow) so that they are more pronounced.

Step 4: Bring color to eyes

Create streaky eye designs with blue (on the left) and red (on the right) Flash Color. Remember: Imperfection is perfection!

Step 5: Draw on accents

Add a dark brown liner to the outer corners of the eyes for a truly lived-in look. Garcia layered Artist Shadow ME-216 (blue) and ME-744 (red) metallics on top of the shadows to enhance the eye designs.

Step 6: Swipe on red lipstick

To re-create Harley Quinn’s flirty pout, try Artist Rouge M-401.

Pro tip: Garcia used a small angle brush to paint on lip color for more control and to achieve crisp lines.

Step 7: Get “tatted” up

Draw an outline of the black heart on upper cheeks with a felt pen liner, then fill with pigment.

Step 8: Set makeup

For long-lasting Halloween makeup, finish with a few spritzes of Mist + Fix. Slip on your wig (or style your locks in curly pigtails), flash a coyish smile, and prepare to break hearts.
