Things You Probably Forgot About Watching ‘TGIF’ Back in the Day

What does TGIF mean to you? If your answer to that is "sizzling mac and cheese bites," or, more alarmingly, "something I write in my group chat on Fridays" please get on our level. We're here to talk about the only TGIF that matters, ABC's long-running programming block that stood for both "Thank God It's Friday" AND "Thank Goodness It's Funny" because ABC is just clever like that!!!!

While TGIF has technically been around since the '80s, we can all agree that its golden years were the late nineties and early aughts, when the ultimate Friday night consisted of you partying with your friends sitting alone on your couch watching Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Clueless, and Family Matters. Throw some Full House in there and life was simply made.

Of course, it's been 84 years since any of us have thought about TGIF due to the fact that we all grew up and actually started going out on Friday nights*, so we're here to refresh your memory with some good / vaguely alarming memories. Just a word of warning: you will be confronted with images from Dinosaurs, the sitcom about a family of puppet dinos, while reading this list. Prepare your eyeballs accordingly.
