Like Goldilocks and her porridge, finding a set of sheets that feels just right can require a lot of trial and error.
Finding ones that hit the right balance between too thick and too light, as well as the right price point is often a challenging task, but one set of Amazon sheets has gained an impressive rating online thanks to their luxurious feel and affordable price tag.

The AmazonBasics Light-Weight Microfiber Sheet Set is currently no. 1 on Amazon’s list of best-selling sheets, and with more than 50,000 ratings it’s easy to see why.
Starting at $28 for a Queen set (they’re also available in a whole host of other bedding sizes) they’re an affordable, lightweight and basic summertime staple. Each set includes a flat sheet, fitted sheet and two pillowcases made from low maintenance microfibre fabric.
They’re designed to be machine-washed, and offer a long lasting and soft finish that can be used for any bedroom in the house.

Praised for their softness, comfort and quality, these inexpensive sheets are a great choice for the warmer months.

While they are certainly intended to be a lighter weight, some shoppers have stated that they are too thin for their linking.
“The feeling of these sheets are nice. They are very thin, but also very loose fitting,” noted one reviewer. “They are nice for summer if they fit your mattress, I prefer a thicker sheet for winter.”
They’re also a better fit for pillow-top mattresses, so if you have a standard or lower-profile mattress, you may want to look for a set without quite so much room.
The verdict
If you’re on a budget and are looking for a set of sheets that doesn’t break the bank, then this AmazonBasic set fits the bill. At just $28, they’re a great purchase for college dorms or first-time apartments too, since they come in dozens of fun colours and patterns.
If material or higher quality is a concern though, you may want to look for a different set of cotton or linen sheets for a more luxurious feel this summer.
