'There's weaves, there's wigs:' Why Raven-Symoné doesn't show her natural hair
We’ve seen Raven-Symoné on the big screen for nearly most of her life, and one thing is for sure — she really knows how to keep us guessing when it comes to ever-changing hair looks.
From curly pigtails to side-shaved updos, the former star of That’s So Raven has shown off a plethora of unique hairstyles, and they just keep coming. At a time when celebrities have been embracing their natural textures more than ever before, Raven-Symoné has opted out. In a video shared by Essence Now, the 32-year-old revealed that she won’t be sharing her natural curls anytime soon, noting, “So the good thing is that there’s the weaves, there’s the wigs, and why not have fun? I can change who I am with a track, but when I take it all out and my hair is healthy, I can enjoy my texture for what it is. I have curls, I really do. You won’t be seeing it, but I got curls, and I like my curls.”
She continued, “I feel like when I wear my curly hair, it’s really Raven-Symoné Christina Pearman who my parents birthed and who I am. It’s not the person that’s on camera or this, that’s why you’ll rarely see that hair. It’s more me than anything else.”
So while chances of getting a glimpse of Raven-Symoné’s natural hair are apparently slim to none, it’s not hard to appreciate the wide variety of hair looks she’s worn throughout the years. Ahead, check out 12 standouts.
