According to The Sunday Times, "friends of the Sussexes" say that—despite all the tension between them and the royals—they would "readily accept an invitation to Christmas at Sandringham." Per a friend (Buckingham Palace declined to comment), “I can’t imagine the Sussexes would decline an invitation to spend time with His Majesty. As of yet, there have not been any invitations for the holidays.”
The problem? Aside from a lack of trust on both sides (reminder: Harry has accused his family of leaking stories, while the royals aren't thrilled about Spare), that'd be Prince William.
In fact, the Daily Mail spoke to an "insider" who speculated that the King might invite the Sussexes to visit him over the New Year in Scotland, just to avoid an awkward hang with them, Prince William, and Kate Middleton. Per the source, 'It would certainly have the advantage of killing two birds with one stone; extending an olive branch to one son without causing difficulty to the other."
Meanwhile, another source notes that "It would be surprising for the Sussexes not to have received an invitation by now if there was going to be one. New Year in Scotland would be more likely. But as with anything to do with Harry and Meghan, let's face it, anything can happen."
So...guess we'll have to wait and see? But nice to know that the Sussexes and King Charles could be mending fences!
