Once upon a time, football, frat parties, and final exams ruled your life. It was called college. If you’re nostalgic for those years — the ambience, not the exams — a visit to a college town should satisfy a collegiate-inspired yearning. Across the country, numerous towns exist almost entirely due to a college or university. The two are inextricably linked; and in some cases, the local economy depends on it. For visitors, this makes for a fun experience, regardless of whether or not you were a once-upon-a-time student there.
Not to mention, a major upside to strolling around as a non-student: No need to lug a knapsack full of books and stress about an upcoming exam. (Just have some empathy for the co-eds surrounding you who are.)
