The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Honor Princess Diana at Children’s Hospice

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge honored Princess Diana’s legacy on Friday when they visited Francis House, a children’s hospice opened by the Diana in 1991.

The center, which looks after 370 children, teenagers, and young adults with serious conditions, is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Like Diana, Prince William and Kate Middleton have made hospice care a priority in their charity work.

According to People, Prince William commented that it was nice to have a “family connection” to Francis House when he walked by a large photograph of his mother on the wall.

For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a check-print coat from Erdem’s 2016 resort collection. She paired the tweed piece with navy blue suede pumps, a matching envelope clutch, and Oscar de la Renta gold-and-pearl earrings.

Interestingly, the jacket seemed to almost be the modern version of the outfit Diana wore to Francis House’s opening a quarter century ago.

While in Manchester, the couple also visited the National Football Museum, the Manchester Cenotaph (a memorial honoring veterans), and the University of Manchester.
