The Body Shop's hugely popular Skin Defence SPF is back
The Body Shop is well loved for its scented body butters, shower gels and lip balms, but its SPF is an underrated skincare gem you need to know about.
Having first launched in 2021, the Skin Defence Multi- Protection Light Essence SPF 50 quickly became a hit among shoppers for its lightweight texture and promptly sold out.
However, we can now share the popular skincare essential is back on shelves and has had a glossy rebrand with updated packaging.
The formula remains the exact same, with a weightless, invisible finish and super-fluid consistency that won't leave your skin feeling sticky, greasy or with an unsightly white cast.
It also provides broad spectrum protection, which means it blocks UVA rays that cause long-term damage to skin, such as dark spots, hyperpigmentation and wrinkles, as well as UVB rays which are responsible for sunburn.
Lastly, it's suitable for sensitive skin types, is non-comedogenic (AKA it won't clog pores which can lead to breakouts) and won't pill underneath make-up.
Costing £22, several Yahoo UK writers are fans of the SPF, saying they love it for its super lightweight formula, which leaves your skin feeling glowy.
"I had been searching for an everyday SPF that wasn't greasy for ages," explains contributor Marie-Claire Dorking.
"And this certainly fits the bill. It rubs in really easily, smells amazing and doesn't cause spot breakouts. I keep it in my make-up bag and put it on every day before my moisturiser, but it's so soothing you can almost get away with going without. The dream."
