Thanksgiving 2022: How Celebrities Celebrated Turkey Day This Year

It’s Thanksgiving 2022, and celebrities are back for another round of turkey, family, and sharing what they’re thankful for…. Sure sounds like what the rest of us are doing!

After last year’s romantic Turkey day, this Thanksgiving is still all about spreading the love. While Wells Adams celebrated his wife Sarah Hyland’s birthday, Kim Kardashian teamed up with Tristan Thompson to throw a Friendsgiving dinner for incarcerated men at Camp Kilpatrick in Malibu. “Happy Thanksgiving to all of the men and women that are away from their families this year,” Kardashian wrote on Instagram, alongside a series of photos from their gathering.

Without further ado, here’s how celebrities are celebrating Thanksgiving in 2022:

President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden

While spending the holiday in Nantucket, the President and First Lady called into Today’s coverage of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. “I want to say thanks to the firefighters, the police officers, first responders. They never take a break,” President Biden said, per People. “And by the way, we’re gonna be talking to some of our troops later today, both here and abroad.”

In the days leading up to Thanksgiving, Biden took part in the White House tradition of pardoning turkeys for crimes unknown. This year’s lucky birds are named Chocolate and Chip.

Mariah Carey

Speaking of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Carey performed her song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” with special guest appearances by her 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. “Happy Thanksgiving!!!🍁,” she wrote on Instagram. “Grateful and so proud of my beautiful kids Roc and Roe, grateful for the lambily and for the precious moments in life. ❤️❤️❤️ Now it’s reaaaallly time!!! 🎄🎅🏼.”

Lea Michele

The current Funny Girl star kicked off Macy’s parade with a performance of “Don't Rain on My Parade.” According to her Instagram story, the former Glee star began preparations at 5 a.m., despite a head cold.

“The most thankful for this amazing family today. @funnygirlbwy ❤️❤️,” she wrote on Instagram.

Kim Kardashian and Tristan Thompson

On November 24, Kardashian shared a series of photos from a recent Friendsgiving with Khloé Kardashian’s ex, Tristan Thompson, and a group of young incarcerated men. “This year I’m really thankful for the people I have met in all of the prisons around the country,” the criminal justice reform advocate wrote. “This week @realtristan13 and I had an inspiring Friendsgiving dinner with the young men incarcerated at Camp Kilpatrick. These young men have earned their way to this model camp in Malibu for great behavior. Many are in college classes and have made huge changes in their life.”

She continued, “My favorite part at our dinner was going around the table and hearing what their dreams and aspirations are. I can’t wait to see them all come true.”

The Kardashian-Jenners

Of course, the Kardashian-Jenners went all out on Thanksgiving. Missing from this collage of Instagram stories: the s’mores bar, a mile-long charcuterie board, and the ever-growing kids table.
