On Saturday, former president Barack Obama released his annual list of favorite songs from the past year. Including hits by Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny, and H.E.R., the roundup is a solid mix of hip-hop, R&B, and rock. If you're wondering how the 44th POTUS keeps his music taste so fresh, you can look no further than his 19-year-old daughter, Sasha Obama, his "music guru" and trusted playlist curator.

"Here are some of my favorite songs of the year," President Obama wrote in his tweet. "As usual, I had some valuable consultation from our family music guru, Sasha, to put this together. I hope you find a new song or two to listen to."

Songs include "Levitating" by Dua Lipa featuring DaBaby; "Ghosts" by Bruce Springsteen; "Lemonade" by Internet Money featuring Don Toliver, Gunna, and Nav; "Blue World" by Mac Miller; and "Kyoto" by Phoebe Bridgers. Take a look at his (read: Sasha's) full picks here.

The former president and First Lady, Michelle Obama, have been spending much more time with their daughters since the family began quarantining together at the start of the pandemic. "We would be working, and then doing a little exercise, and then come together in the evenings. And we would have these activities," Michelle told Conan O'Brien in September.

Barack recently revealed that their oldest daughter Malia Obama's boyfriend sheltered in place with them too. "He's British ... wonderful young man, and he was sort of stuck because there was a whole visa thing and he had a job set up," he said on The Bill Simmons Podcast last week. "So we took him in and I didn't want to like him, but he's a good kid."
