Tell Us The Famous Movie Or TV Show That Has Aged Like Milk Because In Retrospect It's Super Problematic

So that made me want to ask you, dear reader: which movie or TV show was a big hit, but in reality, is actually pretty problematic?

Maybe you're totally baffled by all of the awful things that Sex and the City got away with, like when Carrie got engaged to Aidan and criticized the ring because it felt like "ghetto gold."

Miranda: "You were gold jewelry." Carrie: "Yeah, like, ghetto gold. For fun. But this is my engagement ring"
HBO

Or perhaps you still question how The L Word handled Max's transgender storyline, and how they totally dismissed the transitioning experience.

Or maybe after all of these years, you can't BELIEVE how Almost Famous portrayed their female characters — especially Penny Lane. Like when Russell and Dick "gambled" her in a game of poker against Humble Pie's manager — like...come on.

Benjamin from The Graduate purposefully taking Elaine to a burlesque show to make her feel uncomfortable was very problematic.
