With prom season right around the corner, it’s only normal for those who are no longer in high school to reminisce about the special night. And for 19-year-old Mika Riddick that meant revisiting old photos of the fabulous sequined dress she wore to her prom in 2016. But she had an idea: Why not let a fellow teen who can’t afford a gorgeous gown use it and feel like a million bucks for her prom?

Riddick retweeted a few photos of herself wearing the sparkling gown and wrote, “Hi, I’m willing to let a girl in *need* use my prom dress.” But she didn’t stop there. She even offered to get the lucky girl all glammed up. She continued, “I have shoes for you as well as a makeup artist if you need that as well.” She clarified that she was not “CHARGING YOU ANYTHING, JUST HAVE A GREAT NIGHT!!!!!”

The Maryland native’s tweet got more than 30,000 likes and 350 comments (at the time of this story). Hundreds of people were touched by her sweet gesture.

Riddick tells Yahoo Lifestyle she is shocked by the overwhelming support. “I didn’t expect it to get this much attention at all,” she says. “It’s something I’d do on a normal day for anyone. I’m really happy this all happened though.”

Riddick initially shared a photo of the high school student who borrowed her dress, writing “April 28 IS BOOKED.” The tweet has since been deleted. Maybe the girl was afraid her date would see her dress!

The best part? Riddick has now inspired other young ladies to loan out their prom dresses for the night.

Even the guys joined in, offering up some sharp-looking tuxedos and suits.

Makeup artists and photographers are also now chiming i, offering their services free to teens in need.

Thanks to Riddick, now many teens will look amazing on prom night.

“So many people are inspired to be selfless now in their everyday acts,” Riddick says. “I want things like this to not be so abnormal.”

She adds: “As much as others are touched, they have inspired me just as much.”
