Taylor Swift’s Rumored New Boyfriend, Matty Healy, Was Just Spotted at Her Concert

Those Taylor Swift—Matty Healy rumors don’t feel like rumors anymore.

On May 5, the frontman for The 1975 was spotted at Swift’s first night in Nashville following tabloid reports that the 34-year-old British musician was dating the 33-year-old pop star. “MATTY HEALY HERE CONFIRMED,” one fan tweeted alongside a snap of the singer in Swift’s VIP tent. Guess she still loves a London boy….

“Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to see Matty Healy dance during ‘Shake It Off,’” another tweeted alongside a TikTok clip.

The Sun first reported the new relationship on May 3, with a source claiming that Swift actually split from longtime boyfriend Joe Alwyn back in February. “She and Matty are madly in love. It’s super-early days, but it feels right. They first dated, very briefly, almost 10 years ago but timings just didn’t work out,” the source said. “Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it’s been a lot of FaceTiming and texting, but she cannot wait to see him again.”

Celebrity Rumors

She'll never walk Cornelia Street again.

Fans were surprised by this week’s romance rumors, but Healy seemed keen to add fuel to the fire. On May 4, Healy played the song “She’s American” during a performance in the Philippines. “She sure is!” he allegedly told the crowd before singing the first verse.

As one fan tweeted, “Adding ‘She’s American’ back to the setlist right after the Taylor rumors is the funniest thing Matt Healy has ever done.” The fact that he was performing in the Philippines also means he took a roughly 17-hour flight to make it to Swift’s show in Nashville.

Aside from their alleged dating history, the musicians have crossed paths professionally multiple times in recent years. In fact, Taylor Swift’s first live performance of her hit song “Anti Hero” took place during two of The 1975’s London shows in January, where she also performed a cover of their song “The City.”

In November 2022, Healy revealed that he’d linked up with Swift for a Midnights collab that ultimately didn’t make the album “for reasons that are not to be criticized.” During his interview with KROQ’s Klein/Ally Show for Audacy’s DTS Sound Space, he added, “She’s amazing.”
