The 2020 American Country Music Awards just announced a very familiar face for their already stacked list of performers.

Taylor Swift is set to the take the stage for a special performance for her big return to the ACM Awards. This will be the first time that she sings at the award show in seven years.

In a surprise announcement on Sunday, September 13, Taylor posted the commercial announcing her performance on her Twitter page. The video also confirmed that it will be the world premiere live presentation of her song "Betty" from her new album Folklore.

"'Bout to show up at your party @ACMawards," Taylor wrote on Twitter with a smiling cat emoji.

While this will mark Taylor's big return to the ACM Awards stage in seven years, she last attended back in 2015 when she was presented the Milestone Award.

The Academy of Country Music previously announced that the show will be airing a little differently than previous years due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The award show will be airing from Nashville from three different locations: Grand Ole Opry House, Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, and The Bluebird Cafe.

It hasn't been announced where exactly Taylor will be taking the stage from, but fans will certainly remember the importance of the Bluebird Cafe. It was in that very club that Taylor was discovered by Scott Bruchetta and eventually signed to his label, Big Machine Records.

Although she is taking the stage, Taylor is currently not nominated for any awards. However, the nominees were originally announced back in February 2020, while Folklore wasn't released until July.

The 55th Academy of Country Music Awards will air on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 on CBS.
