Taylor Swift Goes Retro With New, Sideswept Bangs

She may try the occasional pink highlights or curly style, but for the most part Taylor Swift sticks to her go-to hairstyle: beachy textured waves with full bangs. That's why it took a fashion and beauty icon — or more accurately, three of them — to give the singer a new look for the cover of British Vogue.

The esteemed triumvirate — Edward Enninful, Guido Palau, and Pat McGrath — are behind the photo shoot for the magazine's December issue. She's still blonde, has bangs, and is wearing a cat eye, but this time, by some sorcery, the components come together differently to create a totally refreshed look.

Palau styled her hair in a deep side part, blown out straight with lots of volume and flipped-in ends for a vintage feel. Her bangs are swept to one side, showing off a part of Swift that fans don't typically see — her forehead. The style has been compared to [Brigitte Bardot's] iconic coif(https://www.allure.com/story/ariana-grande-60s-ponytail-boyfriend-music-video), and we couldn't agree more.

As for makeup, McGrath naturally used a full face of her namesake brand Pat McGrath Labs. In case you want to re-create this soft glam, retro look, McGrath broke down exactly what products she used on Instagram. The look includes Pat McGrath foundation, Mothership VII: Divine Rose Palette, Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner, FetishEyes Mascara, MatteTrance Lipstick in a beige nude shade, Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil, and a dose of setting spray.

Swift described it as the "funniest, wildest shoot I’ve ever been on." While we're hoping that means we'll see more retro styles from her, that, just like the other half of her forehead, remains to be seen.
