TAYLOR SWIFT: (SINGING) The more that you say, the less I know. Wherever you stray, I'll follow.
CHELSEA BRIGGS: Taylor Swift celebrated the record-setting vinyl sales of her "Evermore" album by dropping a '90s-inspired remix of the track "Willow" on Thursday, June 3, that's only available for 24 hours on her website. Making the announcement on her Instagram, she said, "You guys went and did the nicest thing this week and broke the record for biggest vinyl sales week, like, ever. Now we dance." The caption went along with a series of pics of the singer wearing a gauzy lavender top in front of a towering hedge.
The singer's second pandemic album set the record for the biggest sales week for a vinyl album in the US since MRC Data began tracking sales in 1991. In just three days, the vinyl edition of "Evermore," released on May 28 sold over 40,000 copies in the US through May 30, according to the initial reports to MRC Data. "Evermore" was initially released digitally and through streamers on December 11, 2020, but it's vinyl edition was not issued until May 28.
"Evermore's" vinyl sales are helped greatly by the five months of banked preorders. According to Swift's official site, Swifties can order a digitally autographed fan edition of the "Evermore" with the "Willow" remix until 11:59 PM Eastern time on Thursday in the US only.
