Taylor Swift Fans Are Upset With Hailey and Justin Bieber for an Instagram Story Video

Hailey has since responded.

Hailey Baldwin and Justin Bieber are in some hot water with Taylor Swift fans. Over the weekend, the couple shared their re-creation of Taylor's now famous post-surgery recovery video. However, some fans spoke out against the clip, and accused the couple of bullying Taylor.

It all started when Taylor made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During the interview with Jimmy, the comedian surprised the singer and shared a video that was filmed after she had Lasik eye surgery. Filmed by her mom, the video featured Taylor, post-surgery, struggling with attempting to resume normal life activities, including eating a banana.

As People pointed out, Justin and Hailey apparently saw the video too, and the pair created their own version on Instagram. Hailey took control of the camera duties, while Justin acted out his attempts at correctly pointing to a banana.

The video has since expired from Justin's Instagram Story, but some fans of Taylor criticized the clip, and some have called it bullying. It is important to note, not everyone necessarily agrees that the clip is mean, with one fan tweeting, "Nothing offensive or rude was said or done in those clips."

Hailey has since responded to some of the criticism, and tweeted back at a fan. "I think it’s awesome how passionate you are and how hard you ride for someone you’re a fan of, it’s beautiful how dedicated you are," she wrote. "If there’s something I did to personally hurt you or offend you I’m sorry, it’s not my intention to upset you by any means…but being angry at someone you don’t know does nothing for you. I know cause I been there…all it’s gonna do is make you miserable. Don’t let ME of all people get you feeling that way. Trust me, I’m not worth the energy, nobody should be worth that energy!"

It doesn't appear as if Taylor herself has yet shared a public response to the clip, but it is important to note that ultimately, sometimes, whether intentional or not, a joke can be harmful. As for this video, it will remain up to Taylor how she feels about the re-creation, and whether she chooses to respond.
