A Taylor Swift Doppelgänger Was Seen at the 2019 Emmys
Tonight, someone who looked a lot like Taylor Swift walked the Emmys red carpet. She had a pink dress on and blonde hair with blunt bangs. And like Swift in her Lover era, the woman's hair was dyed pink at the ends. But as much as she looked like Swift, she's not.
Swift, who has no nominations, is not at the Emmys tonight. Her boyfriend Joe Alwyn does not have any nominations, and Swift is not a presenter at the show. Basically, she has no reason to be there. (The original tweets speculating Swift could be there have been taken down too, in further proof she isn't.)
Swift just announced her Love festival tour last week. She also spoke to Rolling Stone about whether she had any regrets about how her girl squad, who used to do award show red carpets together, was perceived.
"Yeah, I never would have imagined that people would have thought, 'This is a clique that wouldn’t have accepted me if I wanted to be in it,'" Swift said. "Holy shit, that hit me like a ton of bricks. I was like, 'Oh, this did not go the way that I thought it was going to go.' I thought it was going to be we can still stick together, just like men are allowed to do. The patriarchy allows men to have bro packs. If you’re a male artist, there’s an understanding that you have respect for your counterparts."
With women, Swift agreed, the assumption is they're feuding. "It’s assumed that we hate each other," she said. "Even if we’re smiling and photographed together with our arms around each other, it’s assumed there’s a knife in our pocket."
