In her own words, there really is nothing Taylor Swift does better than revenge. The 31-year-old singer is currently riding high on the massive success and critical acclaim being heaped on her latest rerecord, Red (Taylor’s Version), and the short film she wrote and directed for the 10-minute version of fan-favorite song “All Too Well.”

The album and short film mark multiple levels of the sweetest kind of revenge. There’s the revenge that the continued success of Taylor’s rerecord project enacts against Scooter Braun, whose 2019 acquisition of the rights to her masters inspired the move. Then, of course, there’s the revenge Twitter sees as being levied against Jake Gyllenhaal, who is widely believed to be the inspiration behind “All Too Well.”

During an interview on Thursday on Late Night With Seth Meyers, the host asked Taylor for her take on “people who might think that they’re the one you’re singing about, if it’s easier or far, far worse for them 10 years later.”

Taylor’s answer was maybe even more brutal than the lyrics of “All Too Well” (which, TBH, didn’t seem like it should be possible): “I haven’t thought about their experience, to be honest.”

“That’s the biggest burn,” Seth replied. “I think there’s nothing they’d rather hear less.”

All of this is to say that it’s *very* appropriate that during that interview with Seth, Taylor channeled the most iconic revenge lewk of all time—Princess Diana’s 1994 “revenge dress”—during her press blitz promoting Red (Taylor’s Version) and All Too Well: The Short Film.

Twitter, for its part, is understandably having a field day with the similarities, which many Swifties are interpreting as yet another very purposeful twist of the knife on Taylor’s part.

Unfortch, as amazing as this Swiftie theory is, Taylor has denied any intentional nod to Diana’s revenge look.

“It was just a black dress I liked,” she told Access Hollywood (per Insider) when asked about the Diana connection.

But at least we have this:
