Don’t tell the other zodiac signs, because I don’t want them to think I’m playing favorites, but here’s the deal: The month of May starts off with your birthday season, and this means it’s your time to shine. As the Sun returns to the exact position it occupied when you arrived in the world, you feel refreshed, inspired, and—perhaps most importantly—extra glam. It’s your birthday, babe! Celebratory energy will be enhanced when the Moon joins the party on May 11, forming a dynamic New Moon in your own sign. This lunation is an opportunity to align your emotions with your actions, reminding you that the flowers aren’t the only thing in bloom this season—you, too, are thriving. So mark this day on your calendar—this is a wonderful moment to do something extra special that speaks directly to your soul! After the year we’ve had, you deserve it!

Then, just two days later, Jupiter does something truly miraculous. On May 13, Jupiter—the planet of expansion—enters the sign of Pisces for the first time since 2010. Yes, it’s been that long since Jupiter occupied Pisces’ domain, and for you, this will kick off a new chapter defined by teamwork, collaboration, and innovation. Don’t be surprised if you feel inclined to expand your network, join a virtual community, or find-like minded activists who care about your passions. It’s important to note, however, that Jupiter’s motion through Pisces will only be a taste of this astrological shift: Jupiter goes retrograde shortly thereafter, and will go back into Aquarius on July 28. Jupiter’s real journey through Pisces begins in 2022, so think of the next few weeks as a sample of the year ahead. J’adore!

After a terrific birthday season, the Sun slides into Gemini on May 20, illuminating the area of your chart associated with personal finances—and you are not mad about it! The past month has been…indulgent (to say the least), and no doubt your bank account is feeling the burn. Fortunately, Gemini season invites you to set new monetary goals, ensuring that your wallet is doing more than collecting dust. Your sign is associated with finances (the bull is the symbol of Wall Street, after all), and you would much rather stack bills than pay them. But remember that money always ebbs and flows and, sometimes, in order to reach our long-term financial goals, we need to be strategic. In short, Taurus babe, this is an excellent time to begin paying down your debt. You got this!

The following week, on May 20, an electric lunar eclipse in Sagittarius lights up the sky. Also known as a Blood Moon, this powerful lunation addresses themes around money and resources, but takes them to the next level: This isn’t just about your bank account, this is about your innate worth. Eclipses can be a bit chaotic, so buckle up, Taurus babe. As you ride the celestial waves, remember that time is the most precious resource, and you—and you alone—can decide exactly how you want to spend it. Also, keep in mind that it’s possible things may not feel totally resolved, and that’s to be expected. There are still two more eclipses in this series (on June 10 and December 4, respectively), so you have plenty of time to get it sorted.

Well, that about wraps it up…oh. Wait. No it doesn’t. May is quite the doozy, and we close out this month with (*dramatic music*) Mercury Retrograde. The planet of communications flips backwards on May 29, which means that—through June 22—misunderstandings will be inevitable. Though it’s impossible (and impractical) to try to micromanage Mercury Retrograde, be sure to triple-check DMs, make copies of your most important documents, and actively choose to step away from petty disagreements. I know you love being right, but when Mercury is going backwards, everyone is in the wrong. Sigh.

How about a birthday present for yourself?
