Tarek El Moussa's Daughter Got Her Dad Through Divorce by Promising Him 'It's Going to Be OK'
It's been a year of personal growth for Tarek El Moussa. The design star's first solo show Flipping 101 w/ Tarek El Moussa premiered this week on HGTV, and he recently moved in with girlfriend Heather Rae Young following a whirlwind romance that began over the summer.
But it's been a long road to success following a split from his ex-wife and Flipping Out co-host Christina Anstead in 2016. Tarek recently revealed in an Instagram post that his 9-year-old daughter Taylor was the one who actually got him through the subsequent divorce, and he expanded on that statement in a recent interview on the E! network.
"I just latched on to her with everything I had. I was, one night, at home. And we were all together. And the next night, I'm on my own," told the hosts of Daily Pop. "It was just me and her, and it was a different experience. And I just held on to her tight, and when I was low, I'd think of her. I spent so much time with her. And she would just always tell me, 'It's going to be OK.'"
Tarek and Heather's love affair has included a big-ticket birthday present — a Ferrari, no big deal — and jet-setting across Europe for the Thanksgiving holidays.
“We’ve definitely talked about [a proposal], but we’re just kinda rolling with things right now,” Tarek told Us Weekly ahead of the trip. “We’re living life and we’re going to Europe together in a few weeks. We’re gonna go to Amsterdam for four days and then Paris for four days.”
While Tarek hasn't popped the question just yet, he officially welcomed Heather into his family with a holiday photo featuring the lovebirds and the kids.
