Tarek El Moussa Defends Himself After Airplane Joke Receives Backlash

It's no doubt that Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young are insanely cute together. Since linking up during summer 2019, the couple has vacationed with El Moussa's kids, moved in together, and already El Moussa revealed that marriage "is definitely in the future." They make a good match and there is definitely nothing but love between the two.

Over the weekend, El Moussa posted a clip to his Instagram Story of him and Young traveling on a private jet together. However, the clip was later taken down after followers seemed concerned that El Moussa would put his girlfriend's safety at risk by using inexperienced pilots to fly in order to save money. In the clip, which both stars have re-posted to their Instagram feeds in order to clear up any confusion, it appears El Moussa is having a conversation about the flight. "It's a great flight, because I got a discount on the pilots," he remarks. "They're new," he says with a laugh. Then Rae Young chimes in "he couldn't do that to me, I'm too precious," explaining how her man would never endanger her. El Moussa replies to that 'No, I would, it's all about return on investment."

If we weren't as familiar with the Flipping 101 star's playful personality and relationship with Young, his remark may come off as him affirming that his girlfriend's safety isn't as important as saving a quick buck. However, El Moussa was completely teasing Young. He took to Instagram the next day to re-post the clip and explain to followers that it was simply a joke. "People got upset so let me clarify...the pilots are NOT new, there was NO discount, and I’m teasing," he writes. Young also re-posted the clip to Instagram to further show fans that she was not at all offended by her boyfriend's joke and that's just the nature of their relationship. After explaining that he was only messing with her, she writes "@therealtarekelmoussa & I flirt with each other, we laugh daily & never stop having fun together."
