Tamera Mowry Pays Touching Tribute to Niece Killed In Thousand Oaks Shooting

Shooting kept going, they were throwing smoke bombs. And then it kind of hit me okay, it's time to go to work. And then I just, windows broke, and I just hopped out the window. And I was one of the last people out, I didn't see anybody. I didn't see any guns, and then I just ran. He was shooting everything from the speakers to anythying. So all we really saw was Just smoke and we saw the shots taking off. So, we just tried to get down as we we could and get out of there. I heard the shots and I. Yeah, everyone kind of just got down and started freaking out running around. I told her to get down, get out, let's just move, we need to get out of here you know, anything gets happening. We don't know where he's coming from. It was a semi-automatic. I just heard 18 to 20 rounds at the time, that's all I heard before I got out. The hangun is designed To hold in California ten rounds and one in the chamber this weapon did have an extended magazine on it we do not know at this time how many rounds were actually in the weapon or how many rounds the magazine could actually hold Because it's still being processed as part of the evidence. We believe he shot himself. When the officers went in and made reentry they found him already deceased.

It’s been nearly a week since the tragic Thousand Oaks shooting that left 12 dead, but for those directly affected by the tragedy, the wounds are just as raw as ever.

The victims, most of whom were college-age, included Alaina Housley, the 18-year-old niece of Sister, Sister alum Tamera Mowry.

Mowry took her son Aden’s sixth birthday on Monday as an opportunity to pay further tribute to the late Alaina. Alongside a photo of Housley accepting flowers from her younger cousin, Tamera wrote, “Happy 6th birthday Aden! Alaina was excited to come to your birthday party. But as you said buddy, ‘She lives in your heart now.’ We love you.”

Mowry’s husband, Adam Housley, shared the same photo of Aden and Alaina, writing, “He was so excited to give you these flowers and as today as we celebrate his 6th birthday he says you are in his heart Alaina. We miss you so..but I know you are here and you are with him. Please be his guardian angel and Arian’s. Happy birthday Aden, as sad as we are, we are so blessed you have a heart like your cousin and we know you will carry her spirit for the rest of your life and make this world a better place. #thehousleys #adensbirrhday #alainasvoice#enough.”

Tamera first honored her niece’s memory late last week when she learned of her passing. “Alaina. My sweet, sweet Alaina,” she began. “My heart breaks. I’m still in disbelief. It’s not fair how you were taken and how soon you were taken from us. I was blessed to know you ever since you were 5. You stole my heart. I will miss our inside jokes, us serenading at the piano. Thank you for being patient with me learning how to braid your hair, and I will never forget our duet singing the national anthem at Napa’s soccer game. I love you. I love you. I love you. You are gonna make one gorgeous angel. My heart and prayers are with every victim of this tragedy.”

Tamera’s twin sister, Tia, shared her condolences as well.

We’re holding all the victims of this senseless tragedy in our thoughts, today and always.
