It's safe to say that mix-and-match bridesmaids' dresses are far more than an enduring trend. For many brides-to-be, this route allows them to put their attendants first: So long as they work within a certain color palette or pattern, 'maids are able to choose gowns they love and, most importantly, feel confident wearing. That's why we're particularly excited about the just-launched limited edition collection from Free People and BHLDN, which was ideated around a "mix, not match" mentality, says Lori Conley, the General Merchandise Manager at BHLDN. "Inspired by beach celebrations and bringing a bright and happy point of view to this new season (because yes, weddings are happening this summer!), the collection capitalizes on Free People's effortless, bohemian roots, and features iconic silhouettes from their archives," she notes.

Shop the Collection

Perfect for coastal, boho-chic, or even garden-themed events, the series—comprised of four main silhouettes in different shades and patterns—was also driven by a "color palette that tied back to nature's beautiful tones," adds Andrea Louie Brown, BHLDN's Divisional Merchandise Manager. "There are blush shades to evoke the beauty of florals and blue tones to evoke the sky. We wanted our brides to be able to tell their stories through color and curate individualistic bridesmaids' dresses so that every woman could pick a look that made them feel like a version of themselves." Ahead, an overview of the capsule collection, which is available for purchase now through July on BHLDN.com and in BHLDN retail stores.

Bow-Hemian

"We are really loving the blue 'bow-hemian beauty' story with our 'Lanna' and 'Alaine' dresses," says Louie Brown, noting that these two ensembles—which also hit very different price points—pair particularly well together.

Blush Palette

Louie Brown is also particularly fond of this trio, which perfectly encapsulates the series' blush palette. The "Siena," center, boasts a dynamic botanical pattern with shades that speak to the solid hot-pink "Lanna," left, and rose-hued "Alaine," right.

Carbon

"I have always admired the spirit of the Free People brand," says Conley. "Its fiercely feminine approach to effortless dressing has always been something I have found to be one of a kind." The "Siena" dress in Carbon, made from a patchwork of florals and lush lace, speaks to this sentiment; complete with an open back accented with two dainty ties, it flows into a romantic skirt that is simply unforgettable.
