There are three essentials to looking like these Los Angeles teens: school girl plaids, knee socks (or thigh-highs), and old-school cell phones. To up the ante, add a cropped angora sweater, a baby backpack, Mary Janes, and an armful of shopping bags. - 2/11

Angsty Angela grew up in the grunge era, which involved layering in a less colorful way. Think oversized flannels, earth-toned floral dresses, and thrift-store sweaters worn over opaque tights. Wear your comfy granny boots and tote your things in a red JanSport backpack. Take this costume to the next level with a red wig or "crimson glow" temporary dye. - 3/11

If you're a group of five girls, there's perhaps no better costume idea. Just assign each lady one of the girl-power pop stars and sing your favorite tunes all night long.
Posh Spice: A sexy black dress, black strappy shoes, and glam makeup
Ginger Spice: Anything with the American flag or Union Jack on it, and your platform shoes or sneakers.
Scary Spice: Lots of animal prints and your wildest pair of shoes.
Baby Spice: A girly mini-dress and pigtails.
Sporty Spice: Warm-up pants, sneakers, a cropped tank, and a high ponytail. - 4/11

Each of these '90s frenemies had her own unique style, so grab your bestie and shop your closet.
Brenda: Try a menswear-inspired look such as a button-down and tie.
Kelly: Wear a floral baby-doll dress, a style that's more popular than ever.
Have a guy to tag along? A leather jacket, a white tee, jeans, and gelled-up hair make for a perfect Dylan McKay to complete the love triangle. - 5/11

The singer/designer/entrepreneur doesn't look or dress much differently nearly two decades later, but her mid-'90s style from her No Doubt days is the easiest to re-create. Wear a white tank, and cut it short. (Don't worry if your abs aren't as great as Gwen's – no one's are.) Let your bra straps show. Jeans with zippers are a huge fall trend, as are plaid pants, and either will do. Put your hair in a ponytail, add red lipstick, and layer on a watch and bracelets. Done. - 6/11

No one had quite the same personal style as Clarissa Darling, Nickelodeon's reigning queen of mixing and matching. It's all about layering for this getup. Start with a cool graphic T-shirt (Keith Haring or Fido Dido would be amazing eBay scores to wear post-Halloween) and leggings (floral, polka dot, or paisley would be a bonus). Then add a denim or patterned button-down shirt, a skirt or denim shorts, and a vest (borrow from your husband, brother, or dad because bigger is better). For accessories, try combat boots with colorful tube socks, a headband or scrunchie, and some playful jewelry (old Swatch watches and hoop earrings work best). - 7/11

Floral denim, cropped tops, jean jackets, mini-skirts, and big hair were the name of the game at Bayside High, and flats with hose or basic white Keds were the footwear du jour and something you probably already own. For another easy look, you could buy a reproduction of the gang's school sweatshirt, complete with a pre-trimmed neckline for an off-the-shoulder look. Just don't forget your hairspray. - 8/11

Like members of many of the old girl groups, T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli always wore matching outfits. In the early '90s, they had an athletic vibe, so this trio's costume calls for matching sweats (odds are, you'll all have black or gray) and cropped T-shirts in different colors. And you could try iron-on or magic marker letters to spell out T, L, or C across the chest. Remember to give Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez her signature marking, and load on some gold jewelry. - 9/11

Katy Perry and actress Shannon Woodward nailed this animated duo last year. For Daria, you'll need glasses, a green jacket, a black skirt, and clunky boots like Dr. Martens. Monotone voice and skeptical outlook optional. For Jane, try a red jacket or button-down shirt over a black tee, shorts worn over tights, and combat boots. Backpacks make practical accessories to keep you hands-free at parties. - 10/11

The Hole frontwoman's signature look is easy to put together on a budget. Try a baby-doll dress, and let your bra poke through. Cheapie plastic kids' barrettes and ripped stockings were Courtney's signature. If you've recently snagged a pair, just add a few more rips. Pumps or Mary Janes are ideal footwear, and be sure to apply your eyeliner and red lipstick haphazardly. Miss World tiara and guitar optional. (Let's be honest, it was more of a prop anyway.) - 11/11

The hilarious buddies from the "Saturday Night Live" sketch (and subsequent movies) make for the easiest, comfiest costumes of all time.
Wayne: Make a Wayne's World hat. Or buy this one for $12. Wear a black T-shirt, ripped jeans, and Converse Chuck Taylors.
Garth: Put on your favorite band tee, a plaid or flannel shirt, ripped jeans, Converse Chuck Taylors, and glasses.
You could bring drumsticks and a guitar (or air guitar) with you, but the key is using their catch phrases: "Schyeah … right." "Party on, Wayne." "Schwing!" But you knew that.
There's no way to avoid the '90s fashion resurgence, and if you didn't own them already, you may have recently purchased a floral dress, a plaid shirt, a crop top, a jean jacket, or a pair of combat boots. With Halloween less than two weeks away, why not use these readily accessible items to pay tribute to your favorite '90s icons? From "Clueless" to "Beverly Hills, 90210" to the Spice Girls, there are lots of fun, memorable ladies to dress up as, solo or in a group. Here's how to transform the trendy styles in your closet into easy, nostalgic outfits. – By Joanna Douglas, Yahoo Shine Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor
