While men may dislike malls, the average 63-year-old woman has spent eight years of her life shopping, according to a study done by GE Money. The researchers also found that the average American woman shops for 399 hours and 46 minutes each year; about 10 percent of that time (36 hours and 17 minutes) is spent buying gifts for family members and friends. At least some lucky ladies have partners to hold their things while they browse. Having free hands can definitely speed up the process! - 2/10

Procrastinators shopping in the final days leading up to Christmas might want to consider riding a bike or walking instead of driving. Progressive Insurance estimates that last-minute shoppers will spend about 25 percent of their total trip time idling in traffic or in parking lots. It's a good idea to fit in a nap in the outdoor-furniture aisle because getting a cart full of presents home could be tiring. - 5/10

Men get bored pretty quickly when they’re with a significant other. It takes only 26 minutes on average for them to get fed up following around a wife or girlfriend, according to a Quidco.com survey, with more than 25 percent admitting to leaving them and going home alone. ‘’If men buy whatever they were looking for in one of the first shops they went into, it’s going to get pretty tiresome going from shop to shop with their other half — especially if they are having to follow them into the same store several times," says Andy Oldham, managing director at Quidco.com. Looks like men of all ages are affected.
The stereotypical man hates shopping and avoids it until the last possible moment. My father has been known to get escorted out of department stores at 5:59 p.m. on Christmas Eve before he's checked off all the items on his holiday to-do list. Instagram's miserable_men posts hilarious photos of the most morose and melancholy men at the mall, proving that clichés exist for a reason. Here, find photos of men who have lost all of their Christmas cheer, as well as some informative facts about holiday shopping. — Lauren Tuck, Shine Staff
