New Couple Alert! Dog and Goose Spotted Everywhere Together

Love comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, so if a dog wants to spend his life with a goose, who's to judge?

In fact, in the curious case of Rex the German Shepherd and Geraldine the Goose, one dog's life was saved by the outcome of a splendid, unconventional romance.

As the story goes, Rex's life completely changed the day he met Geraldine. She waddled into the animal sanctuary where he resided looking as sweet as a popsicle by the pool in the summer. At the time, Rex was known for being "vicious." Two people were required to feed him so that he wouldn't attack, and rumors circulated he would soon be put to sleep.

That is, until Geraldine came along. She strutted her hot stash of feathers in front of Rex's wandering eyes, and from that moment on, he was a smitten. A completely changed dog. Though caretakers initially worried Rex would harm Geraldine, instead they fell for each other.

The two are now constantly seen roaming about, paw to wing, licking each other, splitting ears of corn, sipping out of the same water bowl, even sleeping together. While sharing a room is against resident policy, the caretakers let it slide. No need to ignite Rex's temper.

According to the Daily Mail, because of Geraldine, Rex has turned into a big sack of mush. Geraldine was previously unruly in her own right, but she too has abandoned her overdramatic tendencies.

"They snuggle down together and Rex puts his leg over her to protect her," says Sheila Brislin, who runs the sanctuary in England. "In the morning they have breakfast together... she just runs around alongside him all day long and whenever we take him for a walk in the woods she has to come too. They are very affectionate and he's always licking her head. She snuggles into him and they sleep together every night."

The rest of the tale is too racy for the Good News page, but suffice it to say, the two are eloping ASAP. She plans on keeping her name. Naturally.

P.S. This is all a true story. Seriously. Except the part about her keeping her name, she's totally taking his.
