A truck full of Axe body spray blew up and the reactions are priceless
A truck carrying a shipment of Axe body spray caught fire on a Texas interstate Friday morning, causing cans of the infamous deodorant to explode and coat the atmosphere with the scent of middle school boys who don't know any better. In the wake of the explosion, reported by local news station WDRB in Belton, Texas, the highway was shut down for more than eight hours to clean up all the debris. Luckily nobody was injured in the incident. Its absurd advertisements, targeted at straight young men, often portray the spray as a sort of magnet for women. It's even used the tagline "spray more, get more," which implies the more you use, the better you'll smell and the more women you'll attract. Of course, upon hearing the news about the explosion, people on Twitter had some hilarious reactions. Where are all the women running in the direction of the wreckage as seen in their advertisements?? — Sonia Rebelo (@MariaSinfonica) September 1, 2018 oh no now everybody in texas is gonna be super horny https://t.co/mWfnISUnIv — KT NELSON (@KrangTNelson) September 1, 2018 There were some easy jabs at the tendencies of middle schoolers to use Axe. I was stuck in this traffic. Can confirm it smelled of 8th grade. — Eric Kusin (@EKusin) September 2, 2018 I guess middle school boys in Texas will have to take showers instead of spraying themselves with AXE. — Tony Posnanski (@tonyposnanski) September 1, 2018 Others imagined a more realistic situation. “Women passing within scent of the truck were seen to reflexively put headphones on and spontaneously mention that they have boyfriends.” https://t.co/kqExP9wkQ9 — skullsinthestars (@drskyskull) September 2, 2018 But mostly people are just happy to hear there's a little less Axe in the world. It’s good that nobody was hurt. It’s also good that there is less Axe body spray out there. — sirons (@sirons1) September 2, 2018 WATCH: Amid record-high STD rates, 'super gonorrhea' could be coming to a town near you
