First daughter Ivanka Trump was just named the most “powerful” Jewish woman in America. The title was bestowed on the first daughter by CNN which recently published a story titled, “Ivanka Trump: “America’s Most Powerful Jewish Woman.” The article details Ivanka’s 2009 conversion to Judaism before marrying Jared Kushner, who is an Orthodox Jew, and the private nature of her faith. CNN references a 2015 Vogue article in which Ivanka calls her religion a “personal thing” and a passage in her new book Women Who Work that describes her weekly Shabbat ritual: “During this time, we disconnect completely — no emails, no TV, no phone calls, no Internet.

Models Had Makeup Face-Lifts on the John Galliano Runway
Runway makeup is often very bold and intense, even for an extravagant night out. But John Galliano showed a makeup look that’s subtle enough for beauty minimalists and so flattering that it can’t be overlooked. #boomerang #closeup #beauty regarding the #makeup #look of the #show #JohnGalliano @johngallianoofficial – designed by the #makeupartist #christellecocquet @christellecocquet @callisteagency @bycalliste ♥️♥️♥️#model #mannequin #KristinaAbibulaieva A post shared by PlaneteMode.com (@yanngabin) on Mar 6, 2017 at 4:39am PST

A Model Walked Down the Runway Wearing a Bag on Her Head
John Galliano strikes again with one of his strangest runway shows yet — that just so happens to be one of the most memorable moments of Paris Fashion Week so far. For the designer’s Maison Margiela Fall/Winter 2017 show, he had a model walk with an oversized, furry black bag over her head. Not only was the fluffy head accessory not accompanied by a voluminous, Marie Antoinette-esque gown, the complementing look included a mere skin-tight nude tank top and blue jeans. The collection showed significant similarities to Galliano’s earlier Maison Margiela Couture show in January which featured an array of garments that included geometric cut outs and loose, colored threads dangling from coat collars to its buttons.

Hal Rubenstein’s New Book Is a Delicious Read for Pop Culture Fiends & Hopeless Romantics
If you’re a fashion and pop culture junkie, or a cinematic daydreamer who often relates real life experiences to those witnessed on film, you’ll love this dreamy new tome by fashion industry icon Hal Rubenstein. The Looks of Love: 50 Moments in Fashion That Inspired Romance, is like VH1′s Pop Up Video in book form, providing little known details and the author’s first hand insights behind everything from Courtney Love’s initial wardrobe choices (she handmade all of those baby doll dresses, btw) to Dior’s elaborate haute couture shows in Paris to how to replicate that iconic gray off-the-shoulder sweatshirt worn by Jennifer Beale in Flashdance. “I don’t think the idea was never not with me,” Rubenstein tells Yahoo Style upon explaining the impetus behind the book. “I have always been fascinated by how powerfully certain pop-cultural images insinuate themselves into our emotional behavior.” Enlisting pals such as Calvin Klein, Debra Messing, John Galliano, and Michael Kors to chime into the conversation, Rubenstein offers a enlightening and gossipy read, a touchstone for anyone who lived through these moments (or wishes that they had). As for his favorite moments? “I won’t ever forget the hysteria of John Galliano freaking everyone out at Versailles with his Amazonian warrior collection for Dior inspired by The Matrix,” he says. “I had the pleasure of introducing my friend Versace to South Beach.

John Galliano Perfectly Subverts Ladylike Dressing at Martin Margiela
Designer John Galliano’s version of the lady is not your average uptown pencil skirt-and-pointy heels kind of woman. Galliano’s woman is a little off, a little undone— but in the best possible way: a frowsy beehive, slightly frayed clothes, fishnets and Kabuki-style eyeshadow. In fact, Galliano’s lady doesn’t have to be a lady at all— the designer sent a few men down the runway looking just as pretty with stylish quiffs, opera gloves and fishnets galore. Here are some of my favorite looks from the show.
