Taco Bell’s New Grilled Cheese Burrito Has Cheese on the Inside AND Outside of the Tortilla
Two comfort foods have come together for the newest bite at Taco Bell. The Grilled Cheese Burrito is described as the fast-food spot’s cheesiest menu item of the year so far, in case you had any hesitation of ordering one.
The new offering has cheese on the inside and outside of the flour tortilla. It’s filled with seasoned beef, seasoned rice, a three-cheese blend, crunchy red strips, chipotle sauce, and reduced-fat sour cream. You can get a vegetarian option as well, by asking the meat to be swapped for beans.
While you can order the Grilled Cheese Burrito by itself for $2.99, it’s also available in a $5 Box that comes with a Crunchy Taco, Cinnamon Twists, and a medium soda drink. Pro tip: go with the Box option. This extra cheesy burrito will be available for a limited time at participating U.S. locations.
The Grilled Cheese Burrito was first tested in Chattanooga, Tennessee in November 2019. That trial period must have caused quite a stir in the state if it’s now more widely available. But again, it’s a limited-edition offering, so you won’t have long to get it for yourself.
July also kicks off a beta version of the new Taco Bell Rewards, which was designed to get fans free tacos and more for eating tacos. The loyalty program rolled out on the Taco Bell app nationwide, so you have to download it if you haven’t already. You’ll get 250 points for every $25 you spend, and those 250 points is all you need to earn a free reward. The program also includes VIP rewards, like birthday gifts, bonus point challenges, and exclusive offers to unlock special deals. Basically, if you’re known for hitting the drive-thru, there’s no reason not to sign on for Taco Bell Rewards.
