SXSW Doc ‘She’s the Best Thing In It’ Sells to GoDigital (EXCLUSIVE)

GoDigital Inc. has acquired U.S. rights to the SXSW documentary “She’s the Best Thing In It,” Variety has learned.

The movie, directed by Oscar-nominated “Philadelphia” screenwriter Ron Nyswaner, follows Tony-winning, stage-and-screen character actress Mary Louise Wilson (“Grey Gardens”) as she heads to New Orleans to embark on a new career as a drama teacher.

“The film started as a study of the actor’s craft, but evolved into a celebration of the perseverance and courage required to live an artist’s life,” said Nyswaner, who landed secondary interviews with Frances McDormand, Melissa Leo, Valerie Harper and Tyne Daly.

“She’s the Best Thing In It” was produced by Neda Armian and Jeffrey Schwarz.

It will be available on demand in the United States on Feb. 23, 2016.
