Suzanne Somers is recovering from surgery following a recent neck injury. In a new Instagram post, the Three’s Company star revealed she suffered a recent fall at home.

After taking a hiatus from social media, the actress hopped on Instagram to update her fans about her health and recovery.

“As most of you know, I have been struggling for the better part of the year with a fractured hip, and then Alan [Hamel] and I took an unfortunate fall while coming down the stairs at our home,” Somers wrote in the caption. “I had an intense amount of pain after the fall that was not resolving—even after having tequila!”

After several scans, Somers revealed she had two vertebrae that had fallen out of place, which were putting pressure on the surrounding nerves and causing a “tremendous” amount of pain.

“The good news is that I had neck surgery to correct these issues and now I am on the mend! I need a bit more time to recover before I can join you again at the bar for our virtual cocktail parties,” she said.

Fans flooded the post with messages of support. “Prayers to you and Alan that you both make quick recoveries!! So glad that you are both doing better,” one fan wrote. “Wishing you a speedy recovery!” another added

Somers previously opened up to People about fracturing her hip earlier this year, calling it a “setback I had never experienced.” The actress said she was forced to jump off of a tram that stopped halfway up a hill at her home in Palm Springs, Florida. “There was no choice but to jump. It was dark and I landed very badly,” she explained.

As a result of the injury, Somers had to rest several months after surgery. “I’d done yoga every other day for 19 years—and suddenly I couldn’t do it. I felt like my body had seized up.”

Somers previously told Prevention.com that she prioritizes her health so that she can remain “sexy and healthy” at 73. “Normally at this age, people are sick. We’re in great health,” she said of her and her husband Alan. “We go out, we laugh, he makes great coffee in the morning, we dance at night. I’ve really never been this happy.”

Wishing them a speedy recovery!
