The Meghan Markle effect is not to be taken lightly, as many have come to learn, it is no joke. Just ask brands like Self-Portrait, Aritzia, Club Monaco who have experienced sold-out product in an instant. Now, a sustainable denim brand Outland Denim is feeling the Markle sparkle.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been on a highly-documented tour of Australia. They've visited Bondi Beach, celebrated the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games, and traveled to Fiji-with every event and photo opp, Markle has turned out look after look. Now, with news of her first pregnancy, the media is even more laser focused on her and any glimpse of her baby bump.

Thanks to the sales and awareness Meghan has generated for the sustainable brand, they're reporting they are able to reinvest into the company, and are in the process of hiring new seamstresses in their Cambodian production house. The company says they will employ about 15 to 30 new people.

Outland Denim has an incredible mission behind it. They aim to provide careers for women who've been exposed to sex trafficking in Asia. Through fair wages, training and personal development initiatives the brand is able to foster and support their employees.

It's no wonder why Meghan Markle is a fan of the brand, while she was in Australia she gave her first speech of the the royal tour where she made an emotional call for female empowerment. The Duchess told the audience at the University of the South Pacific, "When girls are given the right tools to succeed, they can create incredible futures, not only for themselves but also for those around them."

This is not the only sustainable brand Markle has worn while on her tour. Just today, she also wore a custom dress by ethical New Zealand designer Maggie Marilyn. Previously she had be spotted in a sundress by Reformation, one of the first brands to make sustainable fashion "cool" in the US, and Rothy shoes which are made from recycled water bottles.
