Susan Shaw says Li Ching still has family in Shanghai

5 Mar – Following reports that she is taking responsibility over managing Li Ching's funeral and other formalities, veteran actress Susan Shaw Yam Yam clarified that she is actually doing it as an assistance to Li's family.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress who appeared at an event in Taipo recently, shared that unlike previous reports, the former '60s screen siren still has a family, but that they are living in Shanghai.

"They need to prepare travel documents to come to Hong Kong and identify the body, and by the time they arrive, it would have been too late to do it," she said.

Susan added that she and her colleagues couldn't bear letting Li's body sit there in the morgue, unclaimed, especially since the actress has already passed away for some time before her body was found.

"The body is already swollen and decaying. That's why I decided to send a representative to help," she said.

Asked when she will be identifying the body, Susan said that she will wait for confirmation from the police.

The actress also revealed other stars whom have stepped up to assist with the funeral, with Bak Sheut Sin, Brigitte Lin, and Tsui Siu Ming volunteering to finance the whole thing.
