Sugarbush Resort Says Goodbye to Beloved 40-Year-Old Lift

Sugarbush Resort has recently announced a substantial $12.6 million investment in capital improvements scheduled to be completed by next summer.

Among these developments, a poignant black and white photograph shared on Sugarbush Resort's Vermont Instagram account revealed a mixed bag of news, both positive and negative, regarding the Heaven's Gate lift update.

These enhancements follow a series of other successful snowmaking projects at Lincoln Peak, which included the addition of snowmaking capabilities to the newly reconfigured Reverse Traverse, now amalgamated with the old Heaven's Gate Traverse under the single name Heaven's Gate Traverse.

The timing of this lift closure is particularly unfortunate given the recent heavy snowfall at Sugarbush.

Additionally, the Castlerock Double will also cease operations after this weekend, along with the closure of all terrain to the skier's left of Lower Organgrinder, including Downspout, Domino, sections of Lower Jester, Heaven's Gate Traverse, and Gondolier.

However, the good news is that these setbacks are balanced by the promise of a significantly enhanced skiing experience for Sugarbush enthusiasts in the upcoming season.
