“While returning to their dorms after a schedule on September 20th (Wednesday), the vehicle carrying Stray Kids members Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin was involved in a minor collision,” the agency explained in a statement.

“After the minor collision, Lee Know, Hyunjin, and Seungmin immediately visited a hospital and received thorough medical examination. None of the members and accompanying staff in the vehicle were seriously injured, but as they have sustained mild muscle pain and bruises, medical professionals have advised that they receive conservative treatment for the time being.

“We apologize for causing fans to worry with such sudden news,” the statement concludes. “JYPE will place the artists’ health as the highest priority and will provide everything we can to support their recovery. Thank you.”

The statement also listed the modifications in the group’s schedule. The sub-unit 3Racha, consisting of members Bang Chan, Changbin, and HAN will perform at Global Citizen Festival. Hyunjin and Milan’s appearances at Milan Fashion Week and Seungmin’s Birthday Youtube Live have been canceled.

Global Citizen Festival sent their support for the group. “Our support goes out to the members of Stray Kids and our hearts are with Stays everywhere,” the festival posted on X. “We’ll be joined on the Global Citizen Festival stage by Bang Chan, Changbin, and HAN, performing as 3RACHA.”

Just a week before the news, Stray Kids appeared at the 2023 VMAs at Prudential Center, New Jersey where they won Best K-Pop Group and performed their smash hit “S-Class.”

Who are Stray Kids?

Who are Stray Kids? Stray Kids is an 8-member K-Pop group formed in 2018 by JYP Entertainment, which also houses K-Pop groups Twice, ITZY, and NMIXX. The members include Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N. The members participated in a survival show of the same name and debuted in March 2018 with their EP I Am Not.

Their latest album 5-Star debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. It’s the Korean act’s third chart entry, and third to debut at No. 1, following MAXIDENT and ODDINARY, both in 2022.

“2022 was filled with so many unbelievable events; it all feels like a dream,” HAN told Billboard in support of the album. “All I can think about is how deeply thankful we are for everything and how much this experience has motivated us to work even harder and grow even more. The goal of this album is to emphasize Stray Kids’ unique color, which can be defined as ‘strange yet special.’ I hope that 5-STAR will be yet another breakthrough for our group and become an album that many people acknowledge as a legendary one.”

“We will continue to perform many stages and will expand to even larger venues so that we can meet and interact with more people,” Hyunjin promised during the interview. While Lee Know reflected, “Stray Kids’ next [step] will be filled with many new challenges, just like what we’ve shown the world so far.”
