Just like Eleven's shaved head and Will's bowl cut, Stranger Things' Max, played by Sadie Sink, is known for her wavy long red hair. The almost waist-length ginger tresses the character is known for have also been a mainstay of the actor's own personal style. Some of her most iconic looks on the red carpets showcase her long hair, making it one of her most noteworthy signature styles. However, it seems like Sink may have decided to change things up, and fans are finding out in a pretty unconventional way — a tweet by Croatia Airlines.

Sink debuted her new hairstyle in a photo shared by the European airline company on Twitter. In the snap, Sink sits in the cockpit of a plane alongside staff with a shag haircut. Her hair appeared to be around shoulder length with face-framing layers. Her wavy tresses were pushed back for a cool and effortless look.

Sink similarly wore a casual off-duty outfit consisting of a leather jacket and a white t-shirt with glasses hanging from it. She also sported a pair of the Apple AirPods Max, one of the hottest accessories in fashion — and technology.

The big reveal of the brand-new look seems to match Sink's laid-back style. While fans have said to have spotted Sink around New York City recently, this is the very first official photo of the actor's short hairstyle, and as it so happens, it comes via a shoutout from an airline. Who would have thought? Not me.

Understandably, fans have gone into a frenzy over Sink's new look. While most are simply enjoying the new look, some are wondering if it could relate to her character's future plot in Stranger Things or if she'll be wearing longer wigs on set. (ICMYI: production for Stranger Things' fifth and final season has been halted in support of the ongoing Writers Guild of America's (WGA) strike.)

While we don't know how the new 'do will affect Max's future, we do know that short hair is a hot trend for 2023, at least among celebrities. Hailey Bieber started out the year with a major haircut and has been rocking the bob since. Florence Pugh also debuted a bob last month that she later completely shaved off for the Met Gala 2023, going inarguably the shortest one could possibly go. As the weather warms up and summer comes by, who will chop it all off next?
