Potential spoilers ahead. After being momentarily halted in March 2020, production for season 4 of Stranger Things is back in full swing – and it looks like things will get even more intense than we’d imagined.

As reported by Page Six on June 14, Millie Bobby Brown (who plays Eleven on the show) was recently spotted recording some scenes and we are in for some Grey’s Anatomy-worthy drama. MBB was seen filming a scene where her character is seen laying on a stretcher and carried into an ambulance by EMTs. According to Page Six, there were also news reporters, Hawkins Police officers, and firefighters “attempting to control the situation” filming the scene. Eleven was reportedly being hauled out of an “exploding building.” Now, did she get into an accident or was this a ploy from Eleven and co. to get some intel on Hawkins National Laboratory that backfired? Or maybe a little bit of both? We’ll have to wait to find out but regardless the drama will be served.

We know from two teasers released in early May that things will get even darker this season but it’s unclear how this scene will fit into the puzzle. There are also going to a lot of new faces in Hawkins. Earlier this month Netflix announced Anne with an E star AmyBeth McNulty, Grace Van Dien, Myles Truitt, and Regina Ting Chen had joined the beloved cast. In late 2020, we also learned horror veteran Robert Englund, Booksmart’s Eduardo Franco, Game of Thrones’ Tom Wlaschiha, Joseph Quinn, and Maya Hawke's own brother Levon will be part of the upcoming season – and their role descriptions were nothing short of revealing.

Season 4 of Stranger Things still has no tentative release date on Netflix, though, as Page Six noted, Finn Wolfhard did disclose in April that it would “hopefully” be “out sometime next year.” Bring on 2022.
