Stranger Things fans have been waiting to find out who The American is and now the wait seems to finally be over.

As a special Valentine's Day treat, Netflix released a teaser trailer for Stranger Things season four called "From Russia With Love" that revealed the secret identity of the mysterious American. It also confirmed that the show will take place in Russia for part of next season.

The special teaser shows that Hopper, who was believed to be dead at the end of Stranger Things 3, is actually alive and is currently serving as a prisoner for the Russian army.

"We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway -- and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and other," creators The Duffer Brothers revealed in a statement.

"Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything….Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more," they continued. "In the meantime -- pray for the American. From Russia with love, The Duffer Brothers."

David Harbour, who plays Hopper, also shared the trailer on Instagram with the caption, "For the faithful, Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️."

There's still no word about when fans can expect the season to drop on the streaming giant, but at least they can rest easy about the fate of their favorite sheriff.
