'Stranger Things' kids show off their singing skills in Motown cover band 'The Upside Downs'

On The Late Late Show, James Corden revealed that before the kids from Stranger Things made it big as actors, they were all in a Motown cover band together called "The Upside Downs". Who knew? Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp all visited the show to reminisce on their musical days with James Corden. Wolfhard shared, "Some people thought it was weird that James hung out with us because he is an adult, but we actually went to school with him. Yeah, he was held back a couple of years but we were in the same grade." He also shared that the band performed at high school proms, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, and retirement homes! But it was at a wedding that they were scouted by a Netflix executive who called them in for an audition for what would become a phenomenon. One by one, each of the boys got a call saying they got the part. Except James, who said, "I will find another way to channel my creativity. I will be fine as long as I don't end up wearing a suit and sitting behind a desk. Don't want to waste my life doing that." Even though James did end up becoming a famous late night talk show host and the boys now star in one of Netflix's hottest TV shows, they all said that they still miss the band. So, they decided to get the band back together for one more night. They rocked the stage performing The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back," The Temptations's "My Girl" and The Four Tops's "Reach Out I'll Be There". Unsurprisingly, their performance was an eleven out of ten.
