Thanks to Stranger Things, we're all now running up that hill. The Netflix show has led to a resurgence of popularity for Kate Bush's 1985 track “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God).”

The song featured in the first episode of Stranger Things and is particularly tied to the character Max Mayfield--played by Sadie Sink-- who first listens to the song on her walkman while she grapples with the death of a family member. The song is also present throughout the rest of her journey during the show.

Billboard reports that data from Spotify on Monday shows "an 8,700% increase in global streams compared to its total on Thursday (May 26), the day prior to the Stranger Things season four premiere on Netflix." The song’s U.S. streams also increased by 9,900% over the same time period. It also currently sits at no. 1 on the top 50 played songs in the US.

Seeing as the fourth season of the show is set in 1986, a number of classic 8-s hits make their appearance on the show. The show's official soundtrack features '80s tracks like "California Dreamin" by The Beach Boys, Talking Heads' "Psycho Heads" and "You Spin Me Right Round (Like A Record)" by Dead or Alive.

In a statement to Billboard Jeremy Erlich, Spotify’s global head of music, spoke about the resurgence of older songs in younger generations.

“It’s incredible to watch iconic songs get rediscovered and have global moments with new listeners,” he said “‘Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) ‘ is one of those ‘perfect storm’ examples. It’s a classic song that has been introduced to a wide fandom and has now taken on a whole new meaning.”

Stranger Things Season 4: Volume 1 is now streaming on Netflix, while Volume 2 is set to premiere July 1 2022.
