Stormy Daniels wears American flag and 'bares all' on new magazine cover

Stormy Daniels graces the cover of Penthouse magazine, hitting newsstands May 8. For the issue, which calls the pοrn star the “Penthouse Pet of the Century,” she poses without a shirt on, only covering herself up with a strategically-placed American flag — which is especially fitting, considering the cover’s subline: “Getting Intimate with the Most Wanted Woman in America.”

This title is bestowed on Daniels in part thanks to the fact that she’s come forward with her alleged affair with President Donald Trump, who reportedly had her sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement, and then her subsequent defamation lawsuit against Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen.

As Daniels revealed to the magazine, if she’s successful in her case against Cohen, she plans to donate the $130,000 worth of litigation proceeds to Planned Parenthood in Cohen and the president’s names. “I don’t have shame. You can’t bully me,” she said.

This isn’t the first time Daniels has fronted Penthouse. “We are really excited to have Stormy back on the cover of the magazine,” Kelly Holland, CEO and owner of Penthouse, told The Daily Beast. “She was a Penthouse Pet back in 2007, so we have a history with Stormy, and she has a good relationship with us.” Mish Barber-Way, executive editor of Penthouse, added, “In the feature article she talked to us about her incident with the president. It also really gets to the heart of who Stormy is, and we reveal another side of her.”

In addition to a “full-length, in-depth interview” — in which she reveals even more details than she did in her 60 Minutes interview, as well as “another side of her” — the issue will include a new photo shoot.

Daniels’s Penthouse cover comes after Hustler’s 2017 anniversary issue that similarly draped an unclothed model in an American flag. Hustler‘s version featured a brown-eyed model with an American flag fashioned as a hijab. Needless to say, this cover caused a lot of drama; people called it problematic and insulting, and accused Hustler of “glamorizing and sexualizing” this garment worn by Muslim women.

Celebrities have been known to get saucy with the symbol. Beyoncé once posed for Beat magazine in a swimsuit, using the flag as a cover-up. Nikki Bella wore nothing but an American flag as a tube dress to wish her fans a Happy Fourth of July last year (although she claimed it wasn’t a “real” flag). Pamela Anderson and Julianne Hough have done the same.

A ηude Sarah Jessica Parker was swathed in the flag for her cover of Harper’s Bazaar in 2001. Miss Piggy once posed similarly.

Madonna attempted to get people to Rock the Vote in 1990 in a PSA wearing a red bra and underwear and a flag over her shoulders. Kesha, Nicki Minaj, Britney Spears, Tina Fey, and even Stephen Colbert have all also used the flag as a garment previously.
