Stormy Daniels says she was threatened to stay silent about alleged Donald Trump affair

Stormy Daniels, aka Stephanie Clifford, sat down with Anderson Cooper on 60 Minutes to discuss the details of the alleged affair she had with Donald Trump. Daniels also talked about the threats she claims she got to keep the story to herself. Daniels claimed that one time in 2011, a man threatened her in a parking garage when she was with her daughter. She told Anderson, "A guy walked up on me and said to me, 'Leave Trump alone. Forget the story.' And then he leaned around and looked at my daughter and said, 'That's a beautiful little girl. It'd be a shame if something happened to her mom.' And then he was gone." Following that incident, and just days before the 2016 election, Daniels signed a non-disclosure agreement and received a payment of $130,000 from Trump's lawyer, Michael Cohen. Then 15 months later, when the story surfaced in the Wall Street Journal, Daniels signed another statement denying she had been paid. Daniels claimed she felt pressured by her manager and lawyer at the time to sign the statement because because "they made it sound like I had no choice." Daniels then added, "As a matter of fact, the exact sentence used was, "They can make your life hell in many different ways." And when Anderson asked who she thought the "they" were who would make her life hell, she had a pretty good idea of who that would be. Daniels told him, "I'm not exactly sure who they were. I believe it to be Michael Cohen." 60 Minutes airs Sundays at 7 p.m. on CBS.
