The following story contains heavy spoilers for the Season 2 finale of Amazon Prime Video's The Boys.

  • Season 2 of The Boys saw Nazi supervillain Stormfront (Aya Cash) face off a handful of the heroes, including an epic fight with Queen Maeve, Starlight, and Kimiko.

  • However, it was Ryan, Homelander's son, who used his heat vision to finally defeat her during a scene in the woods. As Stormfront died, she spoke something in German.

  • Here's what Stormfront's final words translate to.

While the primary villains of The Boys, Amazon Prime Video's superhero satire megahit, remain Homelander (an evil take on Superman and Captain America) and Vought Industries (the corporation that created Homelander and other "Supes" like him, led by a cold businessman played by Giancarlo Esposito), Season 2 had quite the villain just to itself in Stormfront (played by You're The Worst star Aya Cash), who turned out to be a literally century-old Nazi posing as a millenial, social media-friendly superhero.

Things with Stormfront came to a head in the Season 2 finale following her confrontation with protagonists Queen Maeve, Starlight, and Kimiko; after getting her ass thoroughly handed to her, she retreated to the forest, where she promptly came face to face with both Billy and Becca Butcher, as Becca's (and Homelander's) son looked on. Stormfront was about to kill Becca, but Ryan blasted her with his heat vision, incapacitating her and leaving her looking basically like Anakin Skywalker after his fight with Obi-Wan Kenobi.

After Ryan blasted her with his heat vision, though, Stormfront was still alive. With her dying breaths and, obviously, in a delusional state, she began saying something in German, seemingly repeating the same phrases over and over again. Just like the rest of you, we wondered what she was saying. Given that she's about 100 years old—apparently Compound V took away her capacity for aging—what she's saying would seem to be from her actual youth, when she was a Nazi who associated with (real-life guys) like Goebbels and Himmler, and was married to Vought founder Frederick Vought, who throughout Season 2 has also been revealed to be...a literal Nazi.

Luckily, Reddit exists, and a translation of what Stormfront was saying was online before long. According to u/Raidoton, this is what she actually said in German:

"Es war so schön. Wie wir dort zu dritt gesessen, im Schatten eines Apfelbaums.

Erinnerst du dich an den Tag Frederick? Chloe hat die Arme aus dem Autofenster gestreckt. Wir haben den perfekten Platz am Fluss gefunden, im Schatten eines Apfelbaums. Es war das erste mal dass Chloe frische Äpfel gegessen hat."

Which translates to:

"It was so beautiful. How the three of us sat there, in the shade of an apple tree.

Do you remember the day Frederick? Chloe's arms out of the car window. We found the perfect spot by the river, in the shade of an apple tree. It was the first time Chloe ate fresh apples."

Stormfront lay dying for a bit of time, and u/Raidoton was able to further understand what she said as Homelander and Ryan spoke.

She is heard saying:

"... war so glücklich. Es war herrlich. Ich wollte dass er nie zu Ende geht."

Which translates to:

"... was so happy. It was wonderful. I wanted it to never end."

As we see in the translation here, Stormfront was speaking to her husband, Frederick Vought—thinking back to what she clearly thinks of as "better times."

On that same note, it really seems like Stormfront died in this moment—but let's just consider for a moment that she didn't. After all, she's kind of invincible (she got shot many times in this episode), and has shown the ability to heal (remember when Homelander lasered her in the chest?). She's also been exposed as a racist before and changed her identity, given her past as Liberty. It sure seems like Stormfront's story is all wrapped up.

But we're still going to wait and see in Season 3 before passing judgment. You know, just in case. Homelander said that Stormfront was in captivity during the press conference blaming her; maybe that's not as much of a lie as we're all thinking. As they say, unless you see a dead body...
