Winners and losers

Stocks ending the last trading day of the year in the red include GoPro as traders dump weak 2017 names on tax-loss selling, Adtran as the networking equipment maker warned on 4th quarter profit and revenue, and Energous — shares of the wireless charging tech company are sliding as investors take profits after a huge two-day surge.

Stocks in the green include Gain Capital as Mox Reports highlights the retail forex platform for its crypto-currency trading potential, AzstraZeneca as JPMorgan upgrades the drugmaker to Overweight from Neutral, and TiVo — shares are jumping on reports the DVR maker will be taken out in a private equity deal. Sources say the company is valued at $2.5 billion.
