Steve Kerr gives uncharacteristically curt interview after rough first quarter

The stake are huge in Houston for Monday’s Game 7 between the Rockets and Golden State Warriors.

The pressure is mounting on everyone, including normally calm, collected Warriors coach Steve Kerr.

Golden State, playing a Houston Rockets team minus star point guard Chris Paul for a berth in the NBA Finals, had a poor first quarter that saw Houston take a five-point lead and star guard Klay Thompson hit the bench with three fouls less than four minutes into the game.

Game 7: Steve Kerr not his normally affable self

Kerr, doing his obligatory in-game interview with TNT reporter David Aldridge, made no attempt to hide his feelings about the opening stanza in what can be most kindly described as a curt encounter.

Aldridge, who almost certainly had a follow-up question in the queue, played it cool when Kerr did his best Gregg Popovich impression. The veteran NBA reporter knows when to let one slide.
