What To Consider

The equipment for this sport is called either a disc, a disc golf disc, or a frolf disc — literally anything but a Frisbee. They come in various weights, sizes, and colors. Many disc golf sets come in groups of three, which include a driver, a midrange disc, and a putter. Drivers are long-distance discs that have the ability to fly further at higher speeds but with less control than other midrange discs. Midrange discs are more rounded, fly slower, and are easier to control. Putters are even more rounded, fly even slower and straighter, and are thus easiest to land in and around the basket for your final shot(s) of the hole.

While the technology of disc golf sets has improved slightly over the years, they haven’t changed much. The concept remains the same — thinner and heavier flies faster, rounded and lighter is easier to control.
