The Stats Are In & This Is Who Will Most Likely Die Next on ‘Game of Thrones’
In the quest for the Iron Throne, there can only be one victor. Thanks to some new data, there’s one Game of Thronescharacter we can definitely take out of the running for king or queen of the Seven Kingdoms.
Although there has been a death or two thus far in season eight (sorry Rob McElhenney and Lord Ned Umber), we’ve yet to see a key character killed off. So, the folks over at Visme, a data visualization company, did some digging and uncovered who is statistically most likely to meet their maker first this season.
By scouring wagers on the betting site Bovada, they determined that Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) is most likely to die first this season. His odds are at nearly 41 percent. This isn’t necessarily shocking, as we saw him play with fire and insist that Cersei (Lena Headey) sleep with him after he delivered the Golden Company warriors to King’s Landing. And while she gave in to his advances and didn’t spontaneously combust when he told her he’s going to put a prince in her belly, something tells us he might die at her hand.
Euron isn’t the only Greyjoy who’s anticipated to meet their untimely demise first. Yara (Gemma Whelan) and Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen) follow their uncle in terms of likelihood that they’ll die soon. Yara’s probability is estimated at 25 percent and the newly-brave Theon came in at 16.7 percent.
Following the Greyjoys are Cersei Lannister, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolai Coster-Waldau) followed by a surprising twist. Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke) odds of dying next came in at 2.9 percent and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) and Tyrion Lannister’s (Peter Dinklage) odds were listed at only 2 percent. This begs two questions: In what universe does Dany die before Tyrion and where does Jon Snow (Kit Harington) fit into this whole equation?
As it turns out, the odds of Jon Snow dying next are 1 percent.
That sounds about right.
