Hollywood just gets cuter and cuter, and the celebrity babies of 2021 are no exception. But before we talk about all the stars who have given birth or welcomed newborns in the past year, let’s look back at the celebrity babies born in 2020 because there sure were a lot of them.
2020 may be remembered as a dumpster fire, but for many stars, it marked a happy time where they became first-time parents or added new kids to their ever-growing families. In August 2020, Katy Perry became a first-time mom after she welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom with partner Orlando Bloom. In September 2020, Perry went on a Twitter thread about how much she admires her mom now that she’s a parent. “Popular misconception: being a mom isn’t a full time job,” she wrote. “part 2: when a mom finally goes back to work (whatever profession they do) it’s not like they been coming from months of “time off…” she’s coming from a full time job… of being a mom, lol.” She continued, “Part 3: call your mom and tell her you love and appreciate her and advocate for paid family leave!…Part 4. John Mulaney and Olivia Munn welcomed their first child together on November 24, the day before Thanksgiving, according to TMZ. The baby, a son, was born in Los Angeles. The birth came weeks before Munn told Today that she was “scared” for her and Mulaney to become new parents.
“We talk about the same stuff. Which rocker? What type of crib do you put the baby in? What does the baby wear?” she said. “Honestly, thank God for Instagram and Facebook and blogs because there’s a lot of moms who put out such great information, and that’s been a saving grace for me.” The birth also comes less than a year after Mulany filed for divorce from his wife Anna Marie Tendler in July 2021.
Lance Bass & Michael Turchin
Names: Violet Betty and Alexander James
Lance Bass and his husband Michael Turchin welcomed boy and girl twins on Wednesday, October 13. The couple announced the arrival of their first children together one day later by sharing photos of their birth certificates on Instagram. “The baby dragons have arrived!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” Bass captioned his post. “I can not express how much love I feel right now. Thank you for all the kind wishes. It meant a lot. Now, how do you change a diaper??! Ahhhhhhhh!”
Turchin shared the same photos on his Instagram profile, along with the caption, “Introducing the newest members of the Turchin-Bass household: Violet Betty and Alexander James!!!! They’re pure perfection and yes that includes the dozens of poops we’ve already dealt with. Our hearts our [sic] full!!! Thank you everyone for the well wishes.”
The pair first announced that they were expecting a son and a daughter in June. The news came one year after the NSYNC singer and the painter revealed that they were pursuing a tenth round of in vitro fertilization after their last surrogate, who was also pregnant with twins, suffered a miscarriage in 2020. “It has been quite the journey,” Bass told People in June.

Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, welcomed their first child on September 18, 2021. The daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York, confirmed the news in a tweet at the time. “So delighted to share the news of the safe arrival of our daughter on Saturday 18th September 2021, at 23.42, at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. Thank you to the Midwife team and everyone at the hospital for their wonderful care,” she wrote.
The baby weighed 6 pounds and 2 ounces at the time of her birth. Princess Beatrice also confirmed that her daughter has met Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Andrew, the Duchess of York, as well as other grandparents and great-grandparents. “The new baby’s grandparents and great-grandparents have all been informed and are delighted with the news,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement. The statement continued, “The family would like to thank all the staff at the hospital for their wonderful care. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well, and the couple are looking forward to introducing their daughter to her big brother Christopher Woolf.”
Christopher Woolf, whose nickname is Wolfie, is Princess Beatrice’s stepson. Edoardo shares joint custody of Wolfie with his ex-fiancee Dara Huang, an architect and designer who splits her time between London and Hong Kong.

Cardi B and Offset welcomed their second child together on September 4, 2021. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper confirmed the news in an Instagram post at the time of her and her husband in the hospital bed with their newborn. “9/4/21🦕💙🧸,” Cardi captioned the photo. Cardi and Offset are also parents to daughter Kulture, who was born in 2018. Offset, for his part, also has three kids—Kalea, Kody and Jordan—from previous relationships.
Scarlett Johansson & Colin Jost
Name: Cosmo
Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are parents. The Saturday Night Live cast member confirmed on August 18, 2021, that he and the Black Widow actress had welcomed their first baby together, a son named Cosmo. “Ok ok we had a baby. His name is Cosmo. We love him very much,” Jost shared in an Instagram post. “Privacy would be greatly appreciated. Heard revealed in an Instagram post on July 1 that she had secret welcomed a baby daughter named Oonagh Paige via surrogate. “I’m so excited to share this news with you. Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child. I wanted to do it on my own terms,” she wrote. “I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalized to not want a ring in order to have a crib. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this. My daughter was born on April 8, 2021. Her name is Oonagh Paige Heard. She’s the beginning of the rest of my life.”
So what does the name mean? According to Newsweek, the first part of Heard’s daughters name, “Ooonagh,”—which is also spelled Una or Oona—is derived from the Irish word “uan,” which means lamb. The name is also believed to have roots in the Latin word “unus,” which means one and is sometimes translated to “Unity,” according to the website Irish General. In Irish folklore, Oonagh was also the Queen of Fairies and had long, golden hair that flowed to the ground.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry confirmed on June 6 that they had welcomed their second child, a baby daugther named Lilibet Diana, on June 4. “It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world,” the statement read. “Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz.”
Meghan and Harry, who also share son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, named their daughter after Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, and late mother, Princess Diana. “Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home. Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet,” the statement continued. “Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales. This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”
Harry and Meghan also added, “On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. In an interview with Hello! in November 2020, Trainor revealed that she knew the name she wanted to give her first child long before she even became pregnant. The name, Riley, is unisex, so Trainor knew that whatever gender her first child was, she would name her baby Riley.

Morgan’s birth comes amid her divorce from Kopech. She filed for divorce in June 2020 after less than a year of marriage. She announced her pregnancy a month later. Despite their divorce, it seems like Morgan and Kopech are on good terms. A source told E! News that he was with her at the time of their baby’s birth. “Vanessa had the baby, and Michael is with her as well. They’re both thrilled,” the insider said.
Morgan revealed in an Instagram post that the baby is named River. “The most challenging, beautiful experience of my life. The couple named their daughter, Hartford Charlie Rose. The middle names, Charlie and Rose, were chosen in honor of Clark’s father and Schroeder’s grandmother respectively.
