As of last month, the Scream movies have officially been around for over 25 years now, which means 25 years of Hollywood premieres. Even the cast of the new movie managed to hit the red carpet during a press day, despite the premiere being derailed by Omicron.
Seeing the cast all dolled up on the red carpet had us feeling nostalgic, so we went back to see what Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courteney Cox, and the other stars of the first four movies wore to the premieres. (Warning: Some of these looks are a bit chaotic — looking at you, Skeet Ulrich!)
Warning: Spoilers about the "Scream" films below!
First up, let's take a look at the stars at the original Scream's 1996 premiere in Los Angeles.
Neve Campbell, who played final girl Sidney Prescott.
Courteney Cox and David Arquette, aka newscaster (not meteorologist) Gale Weathers and Deputy Dwight "Dewey" Riley.
Skeet Ulrich, who played Sidney's "bubble-butt boyfriend" Billy Loomis — and one-half of the original Scream's murderous duo.
Matthew Lillard, whose character Stu Macher gave in to peer pressure and became Billy's accomplice.
Rose McGowan, who played Tatum Riley, Sidney's best friend, Stu's girlfriend, and unfortunate garage door victim.
Jamie Kennedy, whose character Randy Meeks, Woodsboro's resident horror film expert, explained The Rules to us in not one but three Scream movies.
Director Wes Craven (RIP), who cameo'd as Fred the Janitor — complete with a brown hat and red and green striped sweater.
And here's Matthew, Skeet, and Neve looking a lot happier than they did at the end of the movie.
Moving on to the 1997 Scream 2 premiere at Mann's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood...
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played ill-fated sorority sister Cici Cooper, with Neve Campbell.
David Arquette, looking even more vampiric than he did in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.
Courteney Cox, looking like she dressed to match David, blend into the carpet, or both (but lovely nonetheless).
Jada Pinkett Smith, who played murdered-in-a-movie-theater, Entertainment Weekly reader Maureen Evans.
Omar Epps, whose character Phil Stevens (Maureen's boyfriend) learned too late that it's not wise to eavesdrop in a bathroom.
Elise Neal, who played Sidney's sorority-bound (and sadly doomed) roommate and bestie Hallie.
Jerry O'Connell, aka Derek, Sidney's boyfriend and cafeteria serenader.
Tori Spelling, who played Sidney in Stab, the movie-within-a-movie based on Gale's book The Woodsboro Murders.
Next up we have the 2000 Scream 3 premiere in Westwood, California...
Neve Campbell, looking gorgeous as always.
David Arquette and (thankfully baby bangs-less) Courteney Cox.
Kelly Rutherford and Liev Schreiber, who played our opening kill couple, Christine and Cotton Weary.
Jenny McCarthy, aka Sarah Darling, the actor who can't keep her Alfred Hitchcock movies straight.
Scott Foley, who played Roman Bridgers, director, brother to Sidney, and the mastermind behind the whole plot to kill Maureen Prescott.
Last but not least, we have the 2010 Scream 4 premiere at Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood...
The original golden trio.
Shenae Grimes, who played Trudie, the catfished-with-Channing-Tatum-pics opening kill in Stab 6.
Lucy Hale, whose character Sherrie was Stab 6's other opening kill.
Kristen Bell, who played Chloe, the killer with no patience for people who talk during movies (possibly the most relatable motive in the whole franchise), in Stab 7.
Anna Paquin, aka Rachel...the friend of Chloe who talks during movies in Stab 7.
Aimee Teegarden played Stab fanatic (and one-half of Scream 4's actual opening kill) Jenny Randall.
Emma Roberts, aka Jill Roberts, presumed heir apparent to Sidney's reign as Final Girl who actually ended up being the new Ghostface.
Hayden Panettiere, who played Jill's best friend (and fan-favorite to take over as franchise Final Girl) Kirby.
Rory Culkin, whose character Charlie was president of Woodsboro High's Cinema Club — and Jill's accomplice.
Erik Knudsen played Robbie Mercer, Charlie's best friend, second-in-command at Cinema Club, and eventual victim.
Nico Tortorella, who played Trevor, Jill's ex-boyfriend and attempted fall guy.
Marielle Jaffe, aka Olivia, Woodsboro High's "hot chick" who was "savaged beyond recognition."
Alison Brie played Sidney's publicist Rebecca, who tried (and failed) to get in good with Gale.
Marley Shelton, aka Judy, the lemon square-baking Woodsboro PD deputy with a crush on Dewey.
Anthony Anderson, whose somewhat hapless character Deputy Perkins ended up with a knife to the forehead.
Adam Brody, who played Deputy Hoss, another of Woodsboro's most hapless.
The fifth installment takes place 25 years after the original and finds Sidney, Dewey, and Gale teaming up with a new generation to take on a new Ghostface. See Scream in theaters now.
